On an alien planet there was a vast ocean that covered most of the Eastern Hemisphere.  A mighty creature emerged from the depths and looked to the western coast there was a land of tall twisted and jagged black mountains.  She opened her great jaws and spoke.
“I, Mighty Vusta of the Blue call to you Big Zudo of the Black.  Come forth and speak with me my brother.”
Beyond the black mountain range, deep within the dark and rocky landscape there was a mountain greater than all the others.  At the top of that mountain was a giant seat, the being that sat there begun to stir.  It had the shape of a man but the only feature it possessed were a series of blue lines like tattoos across its body and a single cyclops like blue jewel eye in the middle of its face.  The great black giant stood up and began to float in the air.  It turned about in the air and floated towards the coast.  He came to a landing on his feet between two of the uninviting peaks and spoke.
“I, Big Zudo of the Black hear your call Mighty Vusta of the Blue.  I will speak with you my sister.”
“Foreigners have come to The Planet my brother,” said Mighty Vusta, “When their spacecraft entered the atmosphere it looked like they were having some trouble.  I suspect that they may be lost.
“I am aware of them,” said Big Zudo, “Their ship passed over my lands as well.  They were able to touch down without damage in the west.  The ship now rests within the Red Lands.”
For a time the two beings simply looked at each other.  Mighty Vusta hoped that her brother would say something even though she knew it was in vain for that was not his way.
“We cannot ignore this Big Zudo,” said Mighty Vusta.
Still her brother said nothing.
“It could not have escaped your notice how large their ship was,” she continued, “If they were merely explorers I would say that we should welcome them to The Planet but also warn them of the dangers if they should linger beyond that welcome.  I do not think that will suffice this time.”
“What do you suggest?”
“We must take action.  Such a ship could contain many life forms.  If their numbers are too great then The Planet will react to them.  I do not wish for that to happen.  They did not come here on purpose.  Their landing was obviously an accident.  What if they have nowhere else to go Big Zudo?  We must not turn them away.”
For a long time Big Zudo said nothing.   This time Mighty Vusta waited for his reaction.
“I cannot concern myself with this,” said Big Zudo, “I have my own responsibility to consider.  If what you suspect is true then I sympathize with these beings but my duty must come first.”
“I believe there is more at stake than just their lives,” said Mighty Vusta, “and perhaps even more than our duty.  Look at the state of our world.  The guardians of Green and White abuse their power while the guardians of Pink and Bronze remain ignorant of theirs.  The guardians of Red and Gold ignore their responsibility and all the others are only concerned with the affairs of their own lands and think nothing about the fate of the rest of The Planet.  This arrival is an opportunity for us to stand united again.”
Big Zudo hesitated for a time then said, “I cannot leave the Black Lands.  The Cage must be watched over.”
“Please do not turn you back on this brother.  We can help these people.  We can teach them to live with the land and not just take from it.  We can show them how to survive on This Planet.”
“And what if they will not listen?  What if they refuse to learn?”
“Then that will be their choice and we will leave them to the consequences of it.”
“If they can be saved I am sure you will see it done my sister,” said Big Zudo as he turned away, “If they can be saved you are welcome to try.  But far too many people choose to remain ignorant of danger.  I fear that the Planet will destroy them.  Goodbye Mighty Vusta.  I must return to my seat and my duty.”
Big Zudo became airborne again and floated back to his seat in the center of the Black Lands.
Mighty Vusta remained for a time and said, “oh Big Zudo, my brother, have you truly lost your faith in people?”
“Here in the Blue Lands I have always had my children with me.  But you Big Zudo, you have spent eons alone in your Black Lands.  You bear a responsibility greater than any of us.  I weep for you my brother.  But I will not turn my back as you do.  If these newcomers can be saved I will see it done.”
Then for a moment she considered Big Zudo’s words and said, “If they can be saved.  If not… then their blood will feed this Vicious Planet.”
